Overview of Gerrit Aelberts's descendants
This family tree is a tall tree. It is also very wide. There are at least 13 generations now from Gerrit Aelberts in the 17th Century to the present, that is tall. And through the years a lot of the individual families had 8, 9, 10 or more children. That's what makes a tree wide.
There is not much to tell about the first couple of generations. But Gerrit Aelberts had a great-grandson Peter, who was the first to bear the family name Waaijenberg. And Peter had two sons: Harmen and Willem.
Willem 'Peters' Weijenberg
Willem (one of the great-great-grandsons of Gerrit Aelberts) had 5 sons, you can see them below.
Of these five, Sander and Jacob are the biggest contributors in terms of descendants.
Oldest son Peter died young. Lambert's branch is small and will soon die out (there is only one last male descendant alive in 2020);
and Willem's youngest son Adam only had daughters who produced offspring.
The third and fourth sons, Sander and Jacob, both had large families themselves and they also had a lot of grandchildren.
Harmen 'Peters' Waaijenberg
Harmen had 9 children, but his 'branch' on the family tree died out after a couple of generations (in 1931).
His daughters had a large number of descendants, but these ofcourse did not bear the family name Waaijenberg. Harmen's oldest son Willem Jan had 5 sons, but only the oldest one (named Harmen after his grandfather) was married.
And this grandson Harmen only had 2 married daughters, and one son who died 114 days old.
All of this is still not enough to earn Harmens descendants a place on this website. Not yet anyway.
