Note: This page is especially interesting for Waayenberg and Weyenberg family members from Michigan and Alberta.

Gerrit Aelberts

The descendants of Gerrit Aelberts are divided in Waaijenbergs and Weijenbergs. This is the family tree with two different branches in Michigan (Grand Rapids area and the Kalamazoo area) and another branch in Alberta.

Gerrit Aelberts (born abt 1626) had a great-grandson Peter Harms Waaijenberg, and two great-great-grandsons: Willem and Harmen.
There is not much known about the first 4 generations (Gerrit to Peter), but it starts getting interesting with the families of his great-great grandsons (the fifth generation).

Harmen's branch has practically died out; there were daughters and granddaughters with extensive families but they (of course) are not named Waaeijyenberg, so for the time being, they won't get much attention on this website (maybe later).
Willem's branch on the other hand has bloomed and blossomed; in this specific family tree there were at least 500 people born since the 1940's who were named either Waa(ij)(y)enberg or We(ij)(y)enberg (counting both Dutch and North-American offspring)

Note: in the above illustration, I left out a lot of sub-branches and siblings.
E.g. Sander and Jacob both had 11 children; Nelis Anthonie had 8 siblings and Marinus Anthonie had 9 siblings.

A more complete overview of Willem's sons, their children and grandchildrne, can be found here: overview of the generations
and of course there is the complete genealogy at Gerrit Aelberts's genealogy
