Some basic things
First: 8 different Wa.a.e.ij.y.enberg families
There are 8 Wa.a.e.ij.y.enberg family trees on this website. All the genealogical content is related to one of these main family trees.
- Gerrit Aelberts (patronym, meaning that his father was named Albert)
- Gerrit Peters (patronym, meaning that his father was named Peter or Pieter)
- Harmen Berends Waijenberg
- Gerrit Jan Waaijenberg
- Jan Peters Weijenberg
- Jan Mensing (patronym, meaning that his father was named Mense)
- Joannes Weijenbarg
- Claes te Weijenborgh Crabben
A superficial introduction to these family trees can be found on the “Fast Forward” page.
I know a website should be easy to navigate, but in this case I am afraid that visitors can easily lose their way between the different family trees.
Second: Overview per family tree
Overviews of the four largests family trees show the direct descendants (children, grandchildren, etc) in a simple table. Not to many generations and not to much information.
The Waaeijyenberg family trees are generally quite large. To show a bit how such a family is put together, I have made overviews in which the most important branches are presented in the form of a data table.
In these tables you will find names formatted as links (blue); clicking on such a name will take you to that person in the corresponding but more detailed family tree.
Links to the overview pages, can be found on the “Fast Forward” page, and also in the main menu, under the "all the waaeijyenbergs"-button.
Third: Extended families
There is a whole lot of content that is related to the so-called "extended families". These are the "in-laws".
Because the Waaeijyenberg families are pretty extensive, there are also a lot of in-laws.
For the first 3 of the Waaeijyenberg genealogies (see the above list), there are also pages with links to genealogies and pedigrees of these 'in-law' families.
Links to the pages with the extended families, can be found on the “Fast Forward” page,
they can also be found under the "all the waaeijyenbergs"-button in the main menu.
The Genealogies and Pedigrees pages
When you visit the Genealogies page, you'll find an extensive list of all genealogies, with a short remark about the family or relevant geography.
Same with the Pedigrees page.
My relatives
I have a section with family trees from my own relatives. Grandparents from both sides (ofcourse), but also uncles and aunts by marriage.
Some of these might be of interest to our English speaking visitors, because there are other families (other than Waaeijyenberg) with branches in North America or Australia.
On my mother's side for instance there is a Lam family with a branch in Washington State.
